Block Preparation
Here at Brinks Performance we rely on our Sunnen Automatic Vertical to provide perfect shape and cylinder finish. Our CV-616 enables us to change and adjust the Crosshatch Angle and Surface Finish for each individual application. With today's high horsepower demands the correct cylinder finish is absolutely paramount for instant concentric ring seal and with that in mind our cylinders are finished within a super tight tolerance of 0.00025" or 0.000635mm (that's ¼ of the thickness of an average human hair)
We also keep Torque Plates for all popular Race engines. (Torque plates simulate the cylinder head tension, which pull the bores/block into correct operating position)

One of the first Sunnen products was the manual cylinder hone which was introduced in 1928 by Joseph Sunnen, founder of the company. This product was used first by garages to “touch-up” cylinders when they put in new rings. And where cylinders were resized by boring, the hand hone was used for engine rebuilding and industrial applications. The design principles which made the first Sunnen hone so successful are still basic to the modern systems now manufactured by Sunnen.

Brinks Performance houses one of only a few Serdi 100's in North Queensland. Serdi, another highly respected piece of engine reconditioning machinery, is located here at Brinks Performance.
Multi angle fixed cutters allow us to customize the best possible valve seat for durability and flow characteristics for each cylinder head we are working with. It's no secret that the typical 3 angle valve job will add Horsepower when performed correctly. BP has over 40 valve seat cutters to choose from, to optimize your valve job.
This machine has the most advanced technology for machining of valve seats and valve guides with the single cutter for any type of seat material with the best concentricity that
any system can do. The most accurate system to generate any geometry on every seat materials with the high tolerance of concentricity and surfaces finish. It is working by interpolation between the cutting tool radius and spindle axis which allows it to make all type of profiles.
